Tostadas with avocado, mozzarella and Sun-dried Tomato Hummus
Tostadas are little toasts traditionally eaten in Spain. In Spain they even have little bars that serve tostadas exclusively, in all sizes and types, temptingly displayed on large platters or in the window. These little toasts are baked in the oven with a drizzle of olive oil, garlic and a pinch of sea salt until crispy. You can top them with all kinds of things, making them the perfect canapé for those times when you want to put something pretty on your table but don't have the time to prepare something extravagant. Top them with fresh and colourful ingredients and serve everything on a nice, big plate or a long wooden serving board.
You will need
1 pack Sun-dried Tomato Hummus
1 ball mozzarella, in slices
1 clove garlic
1 handful fresh basil
How it's made!
Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius and line a baking tray with baking paper.
Cut the baguette into slices and dribble with olive oil. Rub the bread slices with a clove of garlic for a subtle garlic flavour and season to taste with salt and pepper. Bake the bread slices in the oven for 10 minutes until they're golden-brown crispy.
Cut the mozzarella and avocado into slices.
Remove the toasts from the oven. Lay them out nicely on a big plate or wooden serving board and spread them with Sun-dried Tomato Hummus. Complete them with slices of mozzarella, avocado and some fresh leaves of basil.
