Vegan appetizer burgers with Barbecue
We're crazy about party snacks that are quick to prepare but still look spectacular. As far as we're concerned, a party is not complete until there are snacks on the table, and we'll bet that all your guests will share our excitement when they see and smell these mini hamburgers. We have opted for a vegan variation on the hamburger, using falafel balls instead of meat. Instead of salad, why not make your little burgers complete with the addition of some sprouts? Sprouts are very young plants that are packed full of nutrients. They're also beautiful to look at, and when you purchase a mixture of different kinds (such as peppery radish or broccoli sprouts) you get an even more colourful and pretty result! Skewer the burgers to make them easy to handle and serve with a little bowl of Barbecue in the middle of the serving platter. Success guaranteed!
You will need
- 6 mini burger buns
- 6 falafel balls
- 2 small tomatoes
- 1 small handful of sprouts of your choice (or salad leaves)
- 1 pack Barbecue
How it's made!
If you're using half-baked burger buns, finish them off in the oven according to the instructions. Then slice them in two.
In the meantime, heat a glug of olive oil in a frying pan and brown off the falafel balls. If the falafel balls are just a bit too small for the buns, you can flatten them a little.
Wash the tomatoes and cut them into thin slices.
Fill the buns with the falafel balls, tomato, slices and sprouts. Optionally, skewer the little hamburgers to keep them neatly held together. Serve with a bowl of Barbecue.
